Monthly Check-Up 1: November 2025

Welcome to Monthly Check-Up! The purpose of this "sub-series" for this blog is simple, just reflect on what I've done between the end of last month up to this one at the point where it's published with a more laid-back style. Ever since my latest blogposts became more elaborate in their formatting and style, I've been wanting to return back to how I used to do blogs before, and I feel like this format can work for that!

So, around this day of the month in October I was suffering quite a lot, as I kept pressuring myself to do art almost daily. It was... Very painful, but I kept pushing on so maybe I could see a change for good on this. It was all for naught though, as I kept being heavily burned out, so I decided to stop doing art almost daily, and instead focus on the quality more than the quantity.

Comparing this month to last one, I definitely made a lot less pieces, but I actually like the ones I made this month far more, I could actually try things I couldn't achieve before due to time constraints, such as Animation and Low Poly 3D. It reignited my joy for art, and this time I wasn't squeezing it dry just to make ends meet!! It's fantastic, it makes me love doing art again.

Also, since I wasn't doing art every single moment where I had free time, I actually could do real life things I had kinda abandoned. I can actually pass time with my family now, and go out and do things rather than being locked 24/7 inside my bedroom with my PC. It sounds stupid, but it feels like I regained a part of my life just by not making something daily, and in return it benefits my pieces (for the Animation one, I wouldn't have added much silly stuff on it if I didn't give myself more time to brainstorm, and with the Low Poly 3D one, I wanted to represent the feeling I experienced while going outside on it).

Another thing, I originally intended to buy a cheap laptop model so I could focus on working outside more easily, but between those being expensive here even for cheap models, and what I mentioned in the paragraph above, I decided against it, and instead decided to just upgrade my old phone that was starting to show its age for the usage I give it. 32GB of space wasn't cutting it anymore, and since I also wanted to help my sister get a phone from having... no phone due to circumstances, I upgraded to a more recent (but cheap) model that upgraded basically everything but the GPU, and in my family we kinda did a pass-the-phone thing after the fact, so basically everyone has "newer" phones than what they had before. My sister seems to like her "new" phone so I'm glad for that at least.

Sadly, after I got the new phone I had some unexpected expenses that put me kinda short in money, but I managed my money expenses well after those so it shouldn't be a problem for this nor next month. After that though...

I stopped doing art by quantity, which was great for my creative side, but bad for the part where I earn money, as my earnings from my partnership went down by more than half after I changed this, which is not good haha. I also don't wanna go back to doing daily art again just to make ends meet again so I'm brainstorming things at the moment.

Luckily I always save money in case things like these happen, which is why December won't be an issue money-wise for me, but after those savings are gone... Yeah, it won't be good.

In case you're interested in this and wanna help support me, just donating monthly to my Ko-Fi is already more than enough, but if you don't like that, you can also donate while downloading my freebies in there (link for Ko-Fi at the bottom), it sounds counterproductive after what I said but I wanna keep making free things with permissive licenses for everyone, and any and all support helps a lot!! I mean it!!!

To finish this off in a more positive note, this month marks 9 months since I've started with HRT!! A lot of changes happened between then and now, the highlights for me are being able to actually cry far more often (before I could maybe cry once every 2 years or so, which was horrible, I'm telling ya!), the Abubis and some minuscule changes that were still very significant to me, like my skin being more softer (this being the very first HRT change I noticed, a week after starting with it).

I can't wait to see how HRT keeps on going for me, it's one of the best things I've gotten to do, and every day it feels like I'm closer to that person I really wanna be.

Thank you for everything.
